YB Professional Temps is hiring for a leading provider of automotive finance solutions, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Credit Analyst to join the team for a period of 6-9 months. In this critical role, you will be responsible for assessing creditworthiness, mitigating risk, and supporting business growth within our automotive lending portfolio. You will play a key part in developing and executing credit strategies, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring the financial health of our automotive financing operations. We require our person to be in the office in Maidenhead, Berkshire 4 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the annual credit management strategy for the automotive portfolio, establishing measurable goals and KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in credit control operations by refining methodologies, collaborating with technology teams to develop scalable solutions, and identifying opportunities for automation.
  • Evaluate credit applications from automotive dealerships and individual borrowers, conducting thorough credit risk assessments, including financial statement analysis (personal and business), cash flow projections, and collateral valuation.
  • Balance the need for efficient processing with prudent risk evaluation.
  • Proactively monitor and manage the ongoing credit risk within the automotive portfolio, identifying potential issues, escalating concerns to management, and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Analyse financial statements, potentially including those in foreign languages, to assess creditworthiness and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Respond promptly to urgent situations and special cases to minimise potential losses and protect the company’s assets.
  • Contribute to broader credit initiatives, such as participating in methodology discussions with the global credit team, collaborating with collections on delinquent accounts, and preparing credit reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams, providing credit insights and recommendations to optimise processes and drive business performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in credit risk management, preferably within the automotive finance industry or a related field involving asset-backed lending.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with automotive dealerships and/or individual borrowers in a lending environment.
Familiarity with automotive lending products and processes.
Experience analysing and interpreting financial statements in foreign languages.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to automotive lending.
