Hiring & Workforce Consultancy

Practical expertise to help you make better people decisions

Yellow Bricks provides hiring consultancy for UK businesses that want to improve how they hire, interview, assess and support people through workforce change.

Finding great people is only part of building a successful workforce.

I’m Abby Robbins, founder of Yellow Bricks. Drawing on more than 20 years in UK recruitment, I work with organisations that want expert support with how they hire, assess and support people, not simply help finding candidates.

From understanding how AI is changing hiring, to improving interview techniques, designing assessment centres and supporting employees through redundancy, I bring an external recruitment perspective grounded in what is actually happening in the hiring market.

Let's talk

AI & the Future of Hiring

Helping businesses adapt their hiring as work changes

AI is changing both how businesses recruit and what they need from the people they hire.

We work with organisations to explore how AI can be used effectively in recruitment without losing the human judgement that good hiring decisions still require.

That can include reviewing how AI is being used within the hiring process, candidate experience, interview and selection practices, and identifying where automation can help  and where human judgement still matters.

We also help businesses think beyond today’s job description.

As AI takes on more repeatable work, capabilities such as judgement, adaptability, resourcefulness, communication and problem-solving become increasingly important.

The question isn’t simply “Can this person do the job today?”

It’s also:

“What will this job become, and are we hiring someone capable of evolving with it?”

Interviewing, Selection & Assessment

Better interviews. Better evidence. Better hiring decisions.

I’ve spent more than 20 years interviewing candidates and helping organisations assess people, from individual appointments through to recruitment campaigns involving up to 50 hires.

I design and deliver interview workshops, selection processes and assessment centres that help hiring managers gather better evidence and make more confident decisions.

Support can include interview technique and hiring-manager training, competency and behavioural questioning, interview structure and scoring, assessment exercises, assessment centre curation and delivery, candidate communication and participation in hiring panels.

The objective isn’t to create more hoops for candidates to jump through.

It’s to make sure your selection process actually tests the things that matter once someone is doing the job.

Redundancy & Career Transition Support

Practical support for those leaving

Redundancy is a business decision, but for the person receiving the news it can represent an enormous personal and professional change.

I work with organisations that want to provide meaningful, practical support to employees leaving through redundancy.

Drawing on my experience of the recruitment market, I help outgoing employees understand their strengths, prepare for their job search and approach their next move with greater confidence.

Support can include CV and LinkedIn guidance, job-search strategy, interview preparation, understanding the current recruitment market and practical advice on approaching recruiters and employers.

This isn’t employment-law or redundancy-process advice.

It’s support for what happens next.

It gives employers a practical way to look after people as they leave  and gives employees current, recruiter-led guidance on finding their next opportunity.
